Step 1: Learn about Each Trig Ratio.
Even if you already know something about sine, cosine, and tangent, it will be worth your while to first read about each. You may pick up new insights! And building new neural connections around the same core information makes you ever stronger and faster.
Step 2: Practice Solving for Angles.
The first drill (below) helps you remember whether two sides form a sine, cosine, or tangent. In fact, this is the first thing you will be asked -- and the instant feedback you receive makes sure your brain never retains incorrect information for very long. You want to remove wrong ideas immediately, before they stick!
Once you've chosen the correct option, the next thing you need to identify is which number goes top and bottom in the equation. Get that correct and you'll hear a satisfying "ding" while your score updates!
Step 3: Practice Solving for Sides.
Besides missing angles, you can use soh cah toa to solve for a missing side. In the second drill, you are first given one angle and one side (and another side marked with an "x") and asked which trig function you will need to use. If you've been practicing with the first drill, this part will seem easy!
Next, once the correct trig ratio has been identified, there are basically two ways to set up the equation (one right and one wrong). Select the correct equation and you'll get that satisfying "ding" again while your score updates!
